19-1Changes from the other person show up late
Someone you share with says they added or edited an event, but it does not show on your screen yet.
What to check
Ask whether a count such as “3 unsent changes” or “Offline · 3 unsent changes” shows below the calendar header or at the bottom of Settings on their device. If it does, their changes have not gone up to iCloud yet. They go up once their device connects to the internet.
Check that your device is connected to the internet. While the connection is down, the other person's changes do not come in.
Check that iCloud is on for Calliary on both your device and theirs. If it is off, “iCloud is off, so your calendars look empty” shows above the calendar or at the bottom of Settings.
Check that the calendar they edited is the one you are looking at. Tap or click the calendar button at the top of the screen and switch to that calendar.
If you are viewing on the web, click “Refresh” below the month navigation row.
If it still does not work
- What sync and the indicators mean: “12-1 Syncing between devices” and “12-2 Without an internet connection” in “Chapter 12 Sync and notifications”
- Switching calendars: “7-8 Switching calendars and showing names” in “Chapter 7 Sharing”
- When the web reads again: “11-5 When changes appear, and 「Refresh」” in “Chapter 11 Using Calliary on the web”
- When only the widget is late: “19-5 The widget does not update”
19-2The app looks empty
You open Calliary and it shows no events or decorations at all, as if it were freshly installed.
What to check
Look for “iCloud is off, so your calendars look empty” above the calendar or at the bottom of the Settings screen. If it is there, turn on iCloud for Calliary in the place the message names.
iPhone and iPad: “Turn on Calliary in Settings > Apple Account > iCloud.”
Mac: “Turn on Calliary in System Settings > Apple Account > iCloud.”
If “iCloud is on · Reopen Calliary” shows, close Calliary and open it again. When it opens again, Calliary loads your calendars from iCloud.
If “iCloud is restricted on this device. Check Screen Time or your device management settings.” shows, allow iCloud in Screen Time or the device management settings.
Check that the Apple Account on this device is the one you usually use with Calliary. Your Calliary records are in that Apple Account's iCloud.
Check that the calendar you are looking at is “My calendar”. You may be looking at a co-decorated calendar that has no events yet. Tap or click the calendar button at the top of the screen and switch to “My calendar”.
If it still does not work
- What happens when you turn iCloud off and on: “12-3 When iCloud is off” in “Chapter 12 Sync and notifications”
- Checking iCloud on first install: “2-1 Installing and checking iCloud” in “Chapter 2 Getting started”
- Where your records are stored: “1-3 Where your records are stored” in “Chapter 1 Calliary at a glance”
19-3The invite code is not accepted
You entered the invite code you received, but you cannot join the co-decorated calendar.
What to check
Check the message that appeared after you entered the code. The meaning of each message and what to do are in the When you cannot join table in “7-4 If you were invited” in “Chapter 7 Sharing”.
Check that you entered it in the Calliary app. Invite codes are entered only in the Calliary app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The web has no place to enter a code.
If “This code doesn't match, or it was cancelled or has expired.” appears, check the code again. You can also paste the whole invitation message you received. If the pasted text has no code in it, “Couldn't find a code.” appears. If the result is the same, get a new code from the person who invited you.
If “Every spot in this code is taken. Ask for a new one.” appears, everyone that code allows has already joined. Get a new code from the person who invited you.
If a message starting with “Too many wrong codes.” appears, wait the number of seconds it shows and enter the code again. Entering a wrong code 5 times within 1 minute blocks entry for 30 seconds.
If “This is your own invite code. Send it to the other person.” appears, the code is one you made. Send it to the person you want to invite.
If “iCloud is off, so you can't join yet.” appears, turn on iCloud for Calliary and enter the code again.
If “Check your network connection and try again.” appears, check your internet connection and enter the code again.
If the code has a password, get the password separately from the person who invited you and enter it. A wrong password shows “The password doesn't match.”.
If it still does not work
- Entering codes and every error message: “7-4 If you were invited” in “Chapter 7 Sharing”
- A code's expiry, number of people, and canceling: “7-3 Inviting people” in “Chapter 7 Sharing”
- Where to turn on iCloud: “12-3 When iCloud is off” in “Chapter 12 Sync and notifications”
19-4Notifications do not arrive
Some event alerts, medication reminders, or news notifications from a shared calendar do not arrive.
What to check
Look for the “Notifications are off” row at the top of Settings ▸ Notifications. If it is there, Calliary has no notification permission. Tap or click the row to turn permission on.
Check that permission is on for every device that should get notifications. Notification permission is set separately on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Notifications go off on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac that have the Calliary app installed. Even if you edited an event on the web, the alert goes off in the app, not on the web.
If event alerts do not arrive:
Check that an alert is picked in the “Reminders” field of that event's editor.
For all-day events and anniversaries, check “All-day event alert time” and “Anniversary alert time” in Settings ▸ Notifications. These times are separate on each device.
If medication reminders do not arrive:
In Settings ▸ Notifications ▸ “Medication reminders”, check that the reminder's switch is on. If the switch is off, the reminder is paused.
If “This reminder couldn't be scheduled. Turn on notifications in Settings.” shows below the row, turn on notification permission as in step 1.
Check whether the medication reminder was made on another device. Medication reminders go off only on the device where they were made.
If news from a shared calendar does not arrive:
Check that “Sharing notifications” in Settings ▸ Notifications is on.
Check whether the “Co-decorating notifications” row in “Manage this calendar” shows “Off” or “Off in Settings”. Check the kinds you receive too.
For news from a shared category, check that category's “Activity notifications”. In a shared category, news of a deleted event does not arrive as a notification.
If it still does not work
- Notification permission and event alerts: “12-4 Event alerts and notification permission” in “Chapter 12 Sync and notifications”
- Setting alerts on events: “4-5 Reminders” in “Chapter 4 Events”
- Medication reminders: “12-5 Medication reminders” in “Chapter 12 Sync and notifications”
- Notifications for shared calendars: “7-12 Sharing notifications and 「Notification log」” in “Chapter 7 Sharing”
19-5The widget does not update
New events or changes do not show in the Calliary widget on the Home Screen.
What to check
Check that the widget has the right calendar. Touch and hold the widget, and check the calendar in “Edit Widget”.
Check whether the change shows in the app's calendar. If it is not in the app either, the change has not reached the device yet. Follow the steps in “19-1 Changes from the other person show up late” in order.
Widgets for shared calendars redraw even when you do not open the app. The widget catches up with changes within about 1 hour at most.
If it still does not work
- Adding widgets and choosing calendars: “13-2 Adding to the Home Screen and Lock Screen” and “13-3 Choosing the calendar for a widget” in “Chapter 13 Widgets and Apple Watch”
- Syncing between devices: “12-1 Syncing between devices” in “Chapter 12 Sync and notifications”
19-6My calendar is not on the web
You signed in at calliary.honeybeemobility.com, but your calendar or your decorations do not show.
What to check
If “No Calliary records yet” shows, check the Apple Account you signed in with. The web opens an account's calendars only when you sign in with the same Apple Account as the app. If the account is different, sign out and sign in again with the Apple Account you use in the app. If the account is the same, create one event in the app. “My calendar” then appears on the web.
If “Open this calendar in the app” shows, Advanced Data Protection is on for that Apple Account. This account's calendars cannot be opened on the web. Open them in the Calliary app.
If events show but decorated calendar images or pen drawings do not, check that “Show on the web” is on in Settings ▸ “View on the web” in the app. When it is off, decorations do not go up to the web. After turning it on, tap or click “Upload now” to upload right away.
If you used “Delete web copy” or reinstalled the app, “Show on the web” is off. Turn it on again and upload.
If a co-decorated calendar is missing, check that you joined it in the app. The web does not join shared calendars. Once an Apple Account has joined in the app, the calendar shows on the web too.
If the content looks out of date, click “Refresh” below the month navigation row.
If it still does not work
- Signing in and the messages on the sign-in screen: “11-1 Opening the web and signing in” in “Chapter 11 Using Calliary on the web”
- “Show on the web” and “Delete web copy”: “11-3 「My calendar」 and 「Show on the web」” in “Chapter 11 Using Calliary on the web”
- Viewing co-decorated calendars on the web: “11-4 Shared calendars and viewing decorations” in “Chapter 11 Using Calliary on the web”
19-7Decorating mode closed
While you were decorating, decorating mode closed by itself and a message appeared. The brush button may also show a lock.
What to check
Check the message that appeared when decorating closed.
If the table is wider than the screen, swipe sideways to see all of it.
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| “Your Pro period ended, so decorating closed.” | Your Pro period has ended. |
| “Only the person who made this calendar decorates it now, so decorating closed.” | The person who made it turned on “Only the owner decorates”. |
| “This calendar is now view only, so decorating closed.” | Your permission for this calendar changed to “Can view”. |
If you were writing a note, “The note you were writing comes back when you open a note in this calendar again.” follows the message. Once you can decorate again, open a note in that calendar and continue writing.
Tap or click the brush button or MEMO area with a lock to see the reason.
If the table is wider than the screen, swipe sideways to see all of it.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| “Decorating opens with Pro. Tap the brush to see what Pro includes.” (when you tap the MEMO area) | Decorating is a Pro feature. In a co-decorated calendar too, each person who decorates needs their own Pro. Tapping the brush button with a lock opens the purchase screen instead of the message. |
| “Only the person who made this calendar decorates it. You can still add and edit events and to-dos.” | For you to decorate, the person who made the calendar has to turn off “Only the owner decorates”. |
| “This calendar is view only. The person who made it has to allow editing first.” | The person who made it has to change your permission to “Can edit”. |
If Pro has ended, check the current status in Settings ▸ “Calliary Pro”.
If it still does not work
- Checking Pro status, managing the subscription, restoring purchases: “17-3 Checking, managing, restoring, and canceling a subscription” in “Chapter 17 Free and Pro”
- Decorations and calendars after Pro ends: “17-5 After Pro ends” in “Chapter 17 Free and Pro”
- Permissions in co-decorated calendars and “Only the owner decorates”: “7-5 Who can do what” in “Chapter 7 Sharing”
- Decorating mode: “8-1 Entering and leaving decorating mode” in “Chapter 8 Decorating (Pro)”
19-8Contacting the developer
For problems this chapter does not solve, or features you want, send an email to the developer who makes Calliary. Send it from Settings ▸ “Contact developer” (row description “Report a bug or suggest a feature”).
At the top of the screen it says “Tell us when something breaks, or what you wish the app could do. It goes straight to the developer who makes Calliary. Your mail app opens with the message ready.”
Tap or click Settings ▸ “Contact developer”.
Tap or click the row that fits what you want to send.
“Report a bug”: “Something looks wrong, or the app didn't do what you asked.”
“Suggest a feature”: “Something you want the app to do that it can't do yet.”
A message opens with the subject and body filled in. On Mac, a new message opens in the default mail app.
Write what happened or the feature you want, and send it.
What gets sent with your message
The email body includes the three lines under “What gets sent with your message”. The same three lines also show on the screen.
If the table is wider than the screen, swipe sideways to see all of it.
| Line | Content |
|---|---|
| “App version” | The version of Calliary you are using |
| “Device” | The device model |
| “System” | The operating system version of the device |
The description on the screen reads “These three lines ride along so we know what you were using when it happened. Nothing from your calendar, events, diary, or cycle goes with them, and there is nothing in them that points at you or your device. You can delete the lines before you send.”
When the mail screen does not open
If there is no mail account on your iPhone or iPad, the “Write from your own mail app” group appears when you open the screen. On Mac, the same group appears when clicking a row does not open the mail app. Its description reads “This device has no mail account ready, so we can't open a message for you. Copy the address and write from wherever you read your mail. Please put the three lines above in the message — they tell us what to look at.”
Check the address in the “Email address” row. The address is krausehaileydanielle@gmail.com.
Tap or click “Copy the address”. “Address copied” appears.
Write to this address from the mail app you usually use. Include the three lines under “What gets sent with your message”.
