Terms of Service

1. Purpose

These terms set out the conditions for using Penguin Viewer (the “app”) provided by HoneybeeMobility (“we”), together with the rights and obligations of both sides.

The app is one universal app for iPhone, iPad and Mac and requires iOS 18, iPadOS 18 or macOS 15 or later.

2. The service

The app is a reader for files you provide. We do not supply, broker or sell comics, webtoons, novels or any other content.

The app opens CBZ, CBR, CB7 (7z), ZIP, RAR and PDF files, image folders, and TXT, MD and EPUB files. It translates speech bubbles on the device, connects to SMB, WebDAV and OPDS servers including OPDS-PSE streaming, continues your reading across devices through iCloud Drive sidecar files, and provides the local AI translation benchmark with its leaderboard.

No account or sign-in is required to use the app.

3. Your files and your responsibility

Every file the app opens is one you provide. You may use the app only with files you have the right to read.

We cannot know which files you hold, and we neither store nor transmit them. Legal responsibility for the use of those files, including copyright, rests with you.

4. Free use and purchase

Every feature is free. Translation, server connections, reading statistics, widgets, the Face ID lock, and the benchmark with its leaderboard carry no charge and no usage limit.

The free library holds 30 books. Sharing the app once adds 10 more books, for 40 in total.

A single purchase of “Pro Lifetime — Buy Once” (product id com.penguinviewer.pro.lifetime) removes the library limit, so the library becomes unlimited. Nothing renews and there is no further charge. The purchase applies on iPhone, iPad and Mac under the same Apple Account at no extra cost, and can be brought back on another device with Restore Purchases in the app.

The launch price is US $3.99 (₩6,600) and applies until 31 December 2026. The amount you pay is the local price shown by the App Store. From 1 January 2027 the price is US $6.99 (₩11,000 in Korea).

The purchase is enabled for Apple Family Sharing, so your family group can use it. Cancellations and refunds follow Apple's policies and procedures.

5. Leaderboard rules

Posting to the leaderboard is optional. Once you post, your nickname and your measured result are visible to everyone who uses the app. Posting a record and reporting one both require the device to be signed in to iCloud.

A nickname must be 1 to 12 characters after trimming spaces, and nicknames caught by the profanity and hate-speech filter cannot be posted.

There is one record per Apple Account. Posting a higher score overwrites your previous record, and the global top 500 records are listed.

You may report a record for an inappropriate nickname or a suspected fake result, and a record reported by three or more different users is hidden from the list. You may also hide any record on your own device only.

We may delete records with manipulated measurements or offensive nicknames without prior notice. To have your own record removed, write to krausehaileydanielle@gmail.com with the nickname you used.

6. Your servers and your cloud

Connecting a NAS, WebDAV or OPDS server and syncing through iCloud Drive use resources that belong to you. Server configuration, access rights and storage capacity are yours to manage.

We have no access to your servers or your iCloud, and we are not responsible for data loss or connection failures that occur there.

7. Your obligations

When using the app you agree to the following.

• Do not reverse-engineer or tamper with the app.
• Do not post falsified benchmark records, and do not automate repeated posting.
• Do not use the app with files that infringe the rights of others.
• Comply with applicable law and with these terms.

8. Disclaimer

The app is provided as it is. We do not warrant the accuracy of on-device translation or the absolute precision of benchmark measurements, which vary with the condition of the device and the conditions of the run.

We do not store your files, so keeping backups is your responsibility. We are not liable for damage arising from causes beyond our control, including natural disasters, Apple service outages and faults in your device.

9. Changes and discontinuation

We may add or change features to improve the app, and operating system policy changes may restrict some features.

If the service has to be discontinued we will give notice in advance on this page and on the App Store. A Pro Lifetime purchase already made is handled under Apple's refund policy.

When these terms change we publish the new text and its effective date on this page.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes between us and a user are brought before the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
