5-1“To-dos for this day” and “This month's checklist”
Calliary has two kinds of to-dos: “To-dos for this day”, tied to one day, and “This month's checklist”, tied to one month. The two lists do not mix. A to-do you write in “To-dos for this day” does not appear in “This month's checklist”.
If the table is wider than the screen, swipe sideways to see all of it.
| “To-dos for this day” | “This month's checklist” | |
|---|---|---|
| Tied to | One day | One month |
| Where it is | The day sheet that opens when you tap a date | The month screen (the card below or beside the calendar) |
| Initial look | One collapsed header line | An expanded card |
| What the header shows | The count and Expand, as in “2 left” · “Expand” | The number of unfinished to-dos (“2”) |
| When empty | “Add” | “Write a to-do and it lands here” |
To-dos belong to the calendar you are viewing. To-dos written in “My calendar” are only in “My calendar”, and to-dos written in a shared calendar are visible to the people who share that calendar. In a shared calendar, to-dos written by someone else carry the writer's name.
In a calendar you joined with “Can view” permission, you cannot add or check to-dos. There is no input line, and the check circles look dimmed and cannot be tapped. You can still tell finished to-dos from remaining ones. In a “Can view” calendar, the “To-dos for this day” card does not appear on days with no to-dos.
5-2Adding, checking, editing, and deleting
Adding
“To-dos for this day”:
On the month screen, tap a date.
Tap the “To-dos for this day” header in the day sheet and the list expands.
Type the to-do in the input line at the bottom (“Add a to-do”).
Press Return (Enter) and the to-do goes into the list and the input line clears. You can go on to type the next to-do.
“This month's checklist”:
Type the to-do in the input line of the “This month's checklist” card on the month screen.
Press Return (Enter).
If you close the day sheet or collapse “To-dos for this day” while typing, without pressing Return, the text you typed is still saved as a to-do. Tap or click the close button (X) in the input line to dismiss only the keyboard. The text stays in the input line. A line that is empty or holds only spaces does not become a to-do.
Checking
Tap the circle to the left of a to-do and it is marked as finished. A finished to-do gets a strikethrough, dims, and moves down the list. Tap the circle again and it becomes unfinished again. Tapping the area around the circle also checks it.
Collapsing and expanding
“To-dos for this day” collapses and expands each time you tap the header. To the right of the collapsed header, the remaining count appears, as in “2 left”. On a day when everything is finished, the finished count appears, as in “2 done”. When there are to-dos, “Expand” appears next to the count. On a narrow screen or with large text, “Expand” is left out and only the count appears.
Editing and deleting
Tap a to-do's text to edit it in place. Your edit is saved when you press Return or tap somewhere else. To delete a to-do, erase all of its text, then press Return or tap somewhere else. A to-do with no text is removed from the list.
