Terms of Use
Garim · Effective June 19, 2026 · Last updated June 19, 2026
Garim is an iOS and macOS app that automatically detects people's faces in videos and covers them with a mosaic or blur. All processing happens entirely on your device (100% on-device). There is no company server, no sign-up or login, and no analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party AI of any kind. Garim only detects the on-screen location (a bounding box) of a face in order to cover it; it performs no facial recognition or identity matching. No face data (faceprint, template, biometric identifier, etc.) is created, collected, stored, transmitted, or shared with any third party, and face data is not retained. Automatic detection is not 100% accurate, so you must review the result yourself before exporting (saving or sharing).
Article 1. Purpose
These Terms of Use govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between HoneybeeMobility (the “Company”) and users in connection with the use of the application “Garim” (the “App”) provided by the Company, along with other necessary matters.
Article 2. Definitions
- App: “Garim,” the iOS and macOS application for de-identifying (covering) faces in videos, provided by the Company through the Apple App Store.
- User: any person who agrees to these Terms and downloads and uses the App.
- On-device processing: face detection and mosaic/blur processing of videos that is performed entirely within the user's device, with no transmission to any external server.
- Face location detection: using Apple Vision to find only the location (bounding box) of faces in a video frame; this is not facial recognition or identity matching.
- Credits: consumable in-app purchase items that are consumed per use.
- Garim Pro: a subscription in-app purchase that renews automatically on a monthly or yearly basis.
Article 3. Effect and Amendment of the Terms
These Terms take effect when posted within the App or on a webpage operated by the Company. The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate applicable law, and will announce the effective date and the content of any change within the App or on a webpage at least 7 days before the effective date (at least 30 days before for changes that are unfavorable or material to users). If a user continues to use the App after the effective date of an amendment, the user is deemed to have agreed to the amendment. A user who does not agree to an amendment may stop using and delete the App.
Article 4. License
Subject to the user's compliance with these Terms and applicable law, the Company grants the user a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for both personal and business or commercial purposes.
Ownership of the processed (covered) videos and outputs created by the user with the App belongs to the user (or to the party holding lawful rights to the relevant video). The Company claims no rights to such outputs, and the outputs are stored only on the user's device.
The App is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA). In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the standard EULA, the provision more favorable to the user prevails.
Article 5. In-App Purchases
Paid features of the App are offered solely through Apple App Store in-app purchases (StoreKit), in the following forms:
- Credits (consumable): deducted and consumed per use. Consumed credits are not restored.
- Garim Pro subscription: billed monthly or yearly and renewing automatically unless cancelled.
All prices are as displayed on the App Store and may vary by region, currency, and tax. The Company does not collect or store any payment method information (such as card numbers); payment is handled entirely by Apple. Garim offers no free trial; while unpaid, only a watermarked preview of the first 30 seconds of the video is provided.
Article 6. Renewal and Cancellation of Subscriptions
A Garim Pro subscription renews automatically for the same period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal fee is charged to the user's Apple account at the end of each period. The user can manage, cancel, or change auto-renewal directly in their own Apple ID settings. Upon cancellation, an already-started subscription period continues until its end date. The Company cannot cancel a user's subscription on their behalf.
Article 7. Refunds and Withdrawal of Subscription
Refunds and withdrawal for in-app purchases are handled only through Apple in accordance with Apple App Store policy. Because the Company cannot process payments or refunds directly, refund requests must be submitted to Apple (App Store purchase history → Request a Refund).
The right of withdrawal under applicable law (including Korea's Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce) is preserved; however, for digital content whose use has already begun, such as consumable credits, withdrawal may be restricted as to that portion. Whether and to what extent a refund is available is determined by Apple's policy and applicable law.
Article 8. User Obligations and Prohibited Conduct
When using the App, the user must comply with applicable law and these Terms and must not engage in any of the following:
- Processing, storing, or distributing content that violates the law, such as illegally filmed material, using the App.
- Processing or distributing, without proper authority, videos that infringe others' rights, including portrait rights, personal information, or copyrights.
- Reverse-engineering, copying, or modifying the App, or using paid features through improper means.
- Any other conduct that violates the law or public order and morals.
The lawfulness of any video the user processes or distributes, and all resulting liability, rest with the user who processes or distributes that video. Because the Company operates no server and cannot access the user's videos, the Company bears no legal liability for the user's content itself.
Article 9. Limitations of Automatic Detection and Disclaimer
Garim's automatic face detection is based on Apple Vision results and is not 100% accurate. Small, side-facing, or partially obscured faces may not be detected. Accordingly, the user must personally review the result video for any uncovered faces or sensitive information before exporting (saving or sharing), and responsibility for any missed detection and its consequences rests with the user who processes or distributes the video.
The App is provided “as is” to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. The Company does not warrant that the App is fit for any particular purpose. The Company remains liable for damages caused by its willful misconduct or gross negligence and for any damages for which liability cannot be excluded under applicable law (including Korea's Framework Act on Consumers); except for such cases, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the App (including missed detections, exposure of videos, or data loss).
Article 10. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the App and in the software, design, trademarks, and text it contains belong to the Company or the rightful owner. The user may not copy, distribute, transmit, or create derivative works of the App beyond the usage rights granted under these Terms. As set out in Article 4, rights in the outputs the user creates with the App belong to the user.
Article 11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are construed and applied in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. If a dispute arises between the Company and a user in connection with use of the App, the parties shall endeavor in good faith to resolve it; failing resolution, a claim may be brought before the competent court under applicable law. This provision does not limit any rights a consumer has under applicable law, including Korea's Framework Act on Consumers.
Article 12. Personal Information and Data Handling
Garim is an on-device app that performs all video processing solely within the user's device. Because the Company operates no server and has no sign-up or login, it collects no directly identifying information such as name, phone number, or account, and collects or transmits no personal information whatsoever, including IP address or identifiers, for processing. However, if a user contacts the Company directly by email, the Company processes the user's email address and inquiry content in order to respond (see Section 2 below).
1. Face Data
Garim uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect only the location (bounding box) of faces in the video the user selects, solely in order to cover those areas with a mosaic or blur. The App does not create, collect, or store any faceprint, face template, biometric identifier, or other face data, and performs no facial recognition or identity matching. The detected positions exist only in memory while a video is being processed and are discarded immediately afterward. No face data is ever uploaded, transmitted, shared with any third party, or retained — face data is not retained.
2. Items Processed · Purpose · Retention Period · Destruction
- Videos the user selects: Photo Library / Files access is used only to load videos the user personally chooses; it does not scan the entire library or upload anything externally.
- Result videos, preview thumbnails, processing history (including a one-page PDF record): stored only on the user's device to keep and re-share Garim's processing results. They are retained until the user deletes them or removes the App, at which point they are destroyed. The Company cannot access this data.
- Email inquiry content: if a user contacts the Company by email, the Company processes the email address and inquiry content solely to respond, and destroys them within a reasonable period (in principle, one year) after the response is complete. This processing takes place through the Company's external email service (Google).
3. iCloud Sync and Payments (Not Collected or Accessed by the Company)
The user's purchase and credit status may sync across the user's devices through the user's own iCloud (Key-Value Store). This is the user's own iCloud area provided by Apple, and the Company does not access this data. The Company does not sync videos or photos. In-app purchases are handled by the Apple App Store (StoreKit), and the Company does not collect or store payment method information. Both the iCloud sync and payments above occur through Apple and do not mean that the Company collects personal information. Apple's privacy policy applies to the handling of such data.
4. User Rights
Because all on-device data is stored only on the user's device, the user may at any time directly view, modify, or delete result videos, thumbnails, and processing history through the App or the device's file management features. Since the Company holds no such data, deletion of on-device data is performed by the user. For items the Company does process, such as email inquiry content, the user may request access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing through the contact above, and the Company will handle the request in accordance with applicable law.
5. Security and Contact
Garim is designed with an on-device architecture that involves no external network transmission for video processing, so the data being processed does not leave the device. The Personal Information Protection Officer is the Company's representative, and inquiries regarding personal information and data handling may be submitted to honeybeemobility@gmail.com.
