Article 1. Purpose and Acceptance
These Terms set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities of HoneybeeMobility ("we", "us") and of users in connection with the application Vellum (the "app").
By downloading the app from the App Store and using it, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app and delete it from your device.
The app is distributed only through Apple's App Store, so Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions and its licence agreement apply alongside these Terms.
Article 2. The Service
The app is a viewer that opens password-protected HTML documents and PDF documents on iPhone and iPad. It is a universal app for iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 or later, and it can be used on the iPhone and the iPad signed in to the same Apple Account.
The app is a paid app bought once. After the purchase there is nothing further to buy inside the app, and there is no recurring charge.
The app only displays documents. We do not issue documents, we do not check or certify that their contents are correct, and we do not alter them. There is also no feature that recovers a password you have forgotten.
Article 3. Purchase, Refunds and Apple's Agreement
The app is sold and paid for through Apple's App Store. The price in the United States App Store is $1.99, and the App Store shows each buyer the price for their own account region.
Payment, receipts and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's own policies. To request a refund, use Apple's Report a Problem process. We never receive your payment details and cannot issue a refund on Apple's behalf.
Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the app. Where these Terms and that agreement conflict, Apple's agreement prevails.
Article 4. What You May and May Not Do
You must use the app in accordance with applicable law and these Terms.
Use the app only for documents you are entitled to read. The following are not permitted.
- Opening another person's documents without authorisation, or using the app to defeat the protection placed on a document
- Reverse engineering, copying, modifying, redistributing the app or creating derivative works from it, beyond what the law allows
- Publishing or distributing a document opened in the app without the right to do so
- Interfering with the normal operation of the app
Article 5. Your Documents and Your Responsibility
The documents you open and the passwords that protect them are yours to manage. The app does not store those passwords, so if you lose one there is nothing we can do to recover it.
The app displays a document as it was sent to you. Any script inside the document runs as the document defines it, within the isolated web view that iOS provides, and the session used for display is non-persistent, so it leaves no trace behind.
A document is only as protected as the device it sits on. Please use the device passcode together with the app lock, and delete a document from the library if you opened it on a device you share with others.
Opening a file whose origin you cannot verify is your own decision and responsibility.
Article 6. Intellectual Property
The software, design, text and graphics in the app belong to us. You receive a right to use the app personally; no copyright is transferred to you.
The documents you open belong to whoever created or issued them. We claim no rights in your documents.
Apple, the Apple logo, iPhone, iPad, Face ID, iCloud and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc.
Article 7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
We do not warrant that the app will display every document without error. How a document appears depends on the markup and the script that the document itself uses.
We work to keep the app dependable, but no software can remove every risk. Please keep your own copy of documents that matter to you.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from your use of the app, or for losses arising from how a device is managed. This limitation does not apply to damage caused by our wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
Article 8. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. Deleting the app removes the document copies and the settings stored on the device. Copies already in iCloud remain after the app is deleted, so delete the documents from the library first if you want those removed as well.
We may stop distributing the app or providing updates. Even then, refunds for purchases already made follow Apple's policies.
Article 9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Republic of Korea.
If a dispute arises between us and a user in connection with the app, we will first try to resolve it by discussion. Failing that, the dispute may be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act of the Republic of Korea.
Article 10. Changes to These Terms
We may change these Terms. The new text and its effective date are posted on this page.
The version posted here is the one in force.
