Privacy Policy

Article 1. Overview

convert it! converts image formats, covers faces, and composites camera data into a frame on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Every conversion and edit runs on your device.

The app has no sign-up, no sign-in and no account. HoneybeeMobility holds no information that identifies you and never receives the images you process.

HoneybeeMobility operates no server for the app, and the app makes no network calls. Article 6 covers this in detail.

Article 2. Information the App Handles

The app handles the following material.

• The photos and files you pick: they are processed in a temporary folder on the device for conversion, face covering and frame compositing, and the results leave only through the Photos app, the Files app, Finder or the share sheet that you choose.
• Six app settings: default output format (defaultFormat), the default for metadata removal (stripMetadataDefault), the filename rule (filenameRule), the app language (appLanguage), the number of completed runs (completedRuns), and the app version in which a review prompt was shown (reviewRequestedVersion).
• When you change the display language inside the app, the selected language code is written to the system setting key AppleLanguages.

Article 3. Photo Library and File Access

The only usage-description permission the app declares is add-only access to the photo library (NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription). It is used solely to save a result into the Photos app; it is not used to read or browse your library.

Photos are brought in through Apple's photo picker (PhotosPicker). Only the photos you select are handed to the app, so no read permission is required, and up to 50 photos can be selected at once.

Files are brought in through the system document picker, which allows more than one file at a time. Here too, only the files you select are handed to the app, and it reaches nothing else.

On Mac the app runs in the App Sandbox and has read and write access only to the files you select yourself.

The app requests no access to the camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, notifications or Bluetooth, and it asks for no tracking permission.

Article 4. Face Covering and Apple Vision

The face-covering feature uses Apple's Vision framework to find the rectangles where faces appear in an image (VNDetectFaceRectanglesRequest). This analysis runs entirely on the device and needs no network connection.

The feature locates where a face is. It does not recognise or identify the person. It creates no biometric data or facial template, and stores or transmits nothing of the kind.

Each located area is covered in the style you choose: mosaic, blur or a black box.

Automatic detection can miss a face, depending on angle or lighting. Check the result yourself before you publish it or send it to anyone.

Article 5. EXIF and Metadata

A photo file can carry EXIF metadata such as the camera, the date and time, the capture settings and, in some cases, GPS coordinates. The app reads this information from the file you picked; it does not collect or keep it separately.

Turning on the EXIF and location removal switch on the convert screen strips the metadata from the result file. Settings holds a default for that switch, so it can be applied to every conversion.

The EXIF frame feature reads the capture information already stored in the file and draws it into a frame below the photo. Three frames are available: Minimal White, Classic Black and Polaroid. You choose which items appear.

The app never asks the system for your location. The only GPS values it handles are the ones already inside the file you picked.

Article 6. Network and Transmission

The app contains no code that talks to a server. Your images and settings are never transmitted to HoneybeeMobility or to a third party.

On Mac, incoming and outgoing network connections are both switched off in the App Sandbox entitlements.

Purchase, payment, refunds and the review prompt are provided and handled by Apple. HoneybeeMobility receives none of your payment details or Apple Account information, and Apple's privacy policy applies to those steps.

The app uses no third-party tool that measures usage or tracks users. Its only third-party component is libwebp, the open-source library that handles the WebP format, and it runs entirely on the device.

Article 7. Retention and Deletion

HoneybeeMobility keeps none of your photos, files or results, because there is no server or database to keep them in.

Intermediate files created during a conversion are written only to the device's temporary folder and are cleared by the system. A result you save or share stays where you put it, and managing or deleting that file is yours to do.

The settings stored on the device (Article 2) are removed when you delete the app.

Article 8. Children's Privacy

convert it! is not directed at children. HoneybeeMobility collects no personal information from any user, whatever their age.

The app has no account and no field for entering personal information, so there is no path by which you could supply personal information to HoneybeeMobility. Purchases are made through an Apple Account, and Family Sharing and purchase approval are provided by Apple.

Article 9. Your Rights and Contact

Because HoneybeeMobility holds no personal information about you, there is no data for a request to access, correct, delete or restrict. The settings stored on your device are removed the moment you delete the app.

Article 10. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be revised when the law changes or when the app changes.
